I am Iva Biskup, a handball player with over 17 years of experience, currently a part of a senior team at Trafford Handball Club.

In addition to playing for the Club, I have recently started writing applications for grants to receive funding for planned projects and development of the Club. As such, I am required to keep track of numerous funding opporunities for which the Club may be eligible and apply for them with the most appropriate project. In order to write applications, I am utilising the skills which I acquired while working as an environmental consultant in an engineering consultancy for almost 2 years.

Prior to that, I finished my Master course in Manchester and my Undergraduate in Zagreb, Croatia, where I’m originally from. I am the first out of three daughters born into an active family. As such, I was always encouraged to practice sport and after giving gymnastics and tennis a try, I decided that handball was the sport I wanted to stick with. I started handball training when I was 10 and for me handball was always more than a ball, a goal or any individual. Handball is a team, it is friendship, a challenge and an achievement and I feel extremely lucky to be a part of Trafford Handball senior team and to play the sport I love the most in such an amazing environment.
